On our settlement tour and demolished house tour, I was shocked by the disparity between the high living standards of settlements where the sidewalk is perfect, garbage is collected, and massive, fancy apartments are built and the desperate conditions in which Palestinians in East Jerusalem live with little access to water, no garbage pickup, and much smaller, often structurally unsound homes.
